Club Facilities

LCC Clubhouse Bar

The Club Bar

The club boasts a number of enviable facilities available for the benefit of members.

Clubhouse

The clubhouse has been converted by members from the original two Canal Company cottages at the junction between the Coventry Canal and the Wyreley & Essington Canal. The clubhouse provides two main ground floor lounge rooms, maintaining many of the original cottage period features. There is a well equipped kitchen, and a cosy bar located in the original toll office.

Upstairs, there is a games room with pool table, a television lounge, store rooms and toilets.

The Picture Gallery contains photographs taken during the conversion of the original cottages by members

The New Mooring Basin

The New Mooring Basin

Moorings

The club provides in excess of 3000 feet of mooring, the majority of which is located off-line on the length of the original Wyreley & Essington canal plus a new mooring basin constructed in 2022 to replace moorings lost to the construction of the HS2 railway line. Being water that is rented by the club from the Canal & River Trust (formerly British Waterways), the arm is not open to non-members, and thus provides secluded and peaceful linear moorings, most of which have well maintained grassed areas adjacent to them. With the construction of the new mooring basin and associated winding areas, the previous limitation imposed by the 50ft winding hole has now been lifted to allow boats of up to 57 feet to be moored on the arm or in the new basin.

In addition to the moorings on the arm and in the basin, there are also a limited number of moorings available within the club grounds on the main line of the Coventry Canal. Whilst these are less secluded, they allow longer boats to be accommodated.

The Dry Dock

The Dry Dock

Dry Dock

As part of the new facilities constructed to compensate for those lost to HS2 in 2022, a new dry dock facility has been provided replacing the previous slipway. This is available for use by members without further charge and is bookable for 1 week slots via the club website. The dry dock is enclosed in a substantial steel framed building to provide dry working conditions throughout the year. Members are therefore able to undertake blacking and other maintenance tasks that require the boat to be out of the water on a do-it-yourself basis without having to pay commercial rates for hire of a slip or dry dock.

Pump-out & Elsan Disposal

There is pump-out equipment for members to use, as well as a point for emptying elsan toilets.

Gas & Diesel Supplies

The club supplies gas and diesel for members at advantageous rates. These supplies are not available for non-members.
